“And He took the children in
His arms, put His hands on them and blessed them.” Mark 10:16
What are baby dedications?
Baby dedications are a wonderful
and special time when members of Clearwater Community Church acknowledge
that their child is a great gift from God!
The act of dedicating a child to
God was a common practice in Old and New Testament times. As believers
in Christ, we dedicate children for many of the same reasons because
it is:
- An opportunity for parents
to acknowledge God’s incredible blessing of children as a gift from
God. (Psalm 127:3)
- A formal recognition that
the child belongs to God. (Psalm 24:1)
- A public commitment on
the part of the parents and body of Christ to teach God’s Word and
encourage them in their spiritual development. (Deut. 6:5-7)
- A challenge for parents
to raise and discipline their children according to God’s standards.
(Ephesians 6:4)
How do I go about getting my baby
dedicated?
- Clearwater provides four
baby dedications during the 10:45am service per year (dates are listed
on the baby dedication application).
- Please fill out and submit
the application at least 10 days before the scheduled dedication.
- Clearwater will call or
e-mail you to confirm dates, times and answer any of your questions.
- We schedule no more than
four baby dedications at a time, so you may want to turn your application
in as soon as possible.
